India
INDIA, the one country that has everything. My first trip to India
was a research mission for the UNCRD. I went there to assess the
ICT Infrastructure of 5 rural telecenter projects.
My mission started in:
1st -Bombay (West Coast, now called Mombay)
2nd -Indore (Middle of the Country)
3rd -Pune (The most Isolated part of the Country)
4th -Bombay
5th -Bangalore (The Silicon Valley of India)
6th -Madras
(East Coast, now called Channi)
7th -Pondicherry (Former French Territory on the South East Coast)
8th -Madras
And then off to Singapore!
On this particular day, I was in search of monkeys. To my great
surprise, I found two monkeys! Before arriving in India, my hope
was to see wild elephants, camels, and monkeys, up until the last
week of my mission, I saw elephants, camels, donkeys, buffalo,
birds, bats, pigs, boars, cows, goats, sheep.just not monkeys.
I will add their pictures along with others, later on down the
road.
The name of the rock in the picture below is butterball. It is said
that a group of elephants were used to try and budge the rock off
the hill, alas the rock would not move. I tried to push it myself
but apparently I'm not strong enough either.
